The Dropkick Radio Wrestling Show

Join Jeremy Graves and Martyn Licchelli as the take on a trip to the land of wrestling discussion, as The Dropkick Radio Wrestling Show returns for it’s 20th Live show on a very busy week for the world of professional wrestling!

On this weeks show, there’s discussion on the weeks wrestling TV shows from the WWE & TNA along with a Royal Rumble PPV recap that saw Edge make his return to win the Royal Rumble match, and book himself a one way ticket to Wrestlemania 26!

But that’s not all, there’s also discussion on a few bits of news from the world of wrestling including Davey Richards re-signing with Ring Of Honor, which has now removed him from all DGUSA and EVOLVE shows! We discuss this in detail, revealing some very interesting information to come out in the wake of this news including an email that he sent to the heads of ROH (which can be found in the DKR Discussion Forums,) explaining how he felt late last year. This then leads us into a ‘State Of Indy Wrestling’ discussion, that covers 4 of the big promotions in the USA, and also makes it way across the pond to the UK!

And if that wasn’t enough, we launch 2 big competitions (not including the other competition launched during the pre-show,) and we have some phone calls with the DKR Listeners, including one caller who went to the debacle that ended up being ‘WrestleSlam 4′ here in the UK!

Following an unexpected weeks delay, The UK’s Premier Wrestling Discussion Show ‘Dropkick Radio’ with Jeremy Graves and Martyn Licchelli returns to lay the smack down on the world of pro wrestling with a bumper show of what we all know and love, wrestling discussion!

On this weeks show (which has ended up being very long for the all reasons you’re about to read,) we look back at the ‘Monday Night War’ from January 4th, as TNA iMPACT! went head to head against WWE Monday Night Raw that featured the first appearence of Bret Hart on that same show in over 12 years! We run down what happened and give our thoughts on what we saw!

Plus, we discuss some news, launch a new competition conept (which already appears to have generated some excitement), and we bring you our first interview of the new year in the form of Chikara’s ‘Lightning’ Mike Quackenbush! Returning to the show for first in nearly a year to discuss all things Chikara, Dragon Gate USA and promotion EVOLVE (which he’ll be involve with this weekend) in an interview that has a run time of nearly 60 minutes!

(On the Live broadcast, we only had time to air 25 minutes of the interview, in this archive of the show, we’ve invluded the entire interview for you all to enjoy!)

And if that wasn’t enough, we managed to overrun by 30 minutes! (This is what happens when we’re forced to take week off) and we interact the DKR Listeners via phone calls including a Live report from an attendee of the January 4th TNA iMPACT!

It’s a mammoth show to kick of the new year, with the archive of the show clocking up a run time of 3 and half hours!

Discussing the character/gimmick of ‘The Model’ in the WWF, to his tenure in WCW, all the way up to the present day!

We just wanted to let you know that our special look back at this past Decade, is now a 3 part special! This is purely because there was no way we could recap 6 years of wrestling in under 3 hours. So with that in mind. Part 2 (looking back at 2004-2006,) will be released on New Years Eve, and Part 3 (looking back at 2007-2009,) will be released on January 1st 2010!.

It’s “DKR Presents ‘The Decade In Review’ (Part 1). The first of a 2 part special, looking back at many moments over the last ten years which is collectively known as the first decade of the new millennium!

In this show, Jeremy Graves and Martyn Licchelli delve back in time to the year 2000, to discuss a variety of topics from that time period, working our way forward as far as we can in one show.

Topics covered (but limited to,) include The Radicalz, ‘The Russo/Bischoff’ era of WCW, The Invasion, ‘The next big thing’ Brock Lesnar, the brand split, Eric Bischoff as GM of Raw and much, much more in a show that somehow has a running time of 3 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES! (How’s that for a xmas present from DKR!)

Plus if that wasn’t enough, we have a special bonus interview that we conducted earlier this year (literally a few minutes after the 60+ minute interview,) with KENNY OMEGA, talking specifically about ‘The Monday Night War’!

Also, a little teaser, someone else returns to the show who hasn’t been on in a long time~!

And seeing as it is our last Live show of the year, there is SPOILER talk! Discussion on what went down on this weeks edition of TNA Impact (which is supposed to feature Jeff Jarrett, but there was no sign of him in the spoiler reports!) and a few notes from this weeks Smackdown.

We also look ahead to TNA’s final PPV of the year entitled ‘Final Resolution’, giving our thoughts and predictions on what we think will happen on that very show!
